The geeks are on the move as the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, Western Canada’s largest pop culture convention, hits Stampede Park this week. Plus, this week also features the return of the Spring Festival of Crafts.
- Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo: The place where pop culture enthusiasts, sci-fi freaks, anime junkies, cult-classic aficionados, nerds (and nerdettes!) and everyone in-between unite for a celebration that crosses all genres of everything that’s cool, quirky, or just plain fun. Special guests this year include comic book legend Stan Lee, Adam West, and the entire cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Western Canada’s largest pop culture convention runs April 28 and 29 in the BMO Centre. Tickets available at the door.
- Spring Festival of Crafts: Spring is a time for renewal and what better way to usher in the new season than by shopping for unique products to brighten your home, to delight your senses or simply spoil yourself. For three days only, you will find the wonderful creations of 130 of Alberta’s and Canada’s best artisans, artists and designers at the Spring Festival of Crafts Art & Craft Sale. April 27-29 in the Big Four Building.
